Description
The hotel opened its doors in 1932, during an era when globe-trotting was glamorous. Word of the magnificent temples at Angkor Wat was spreading, and Cambodia welcomed more guests each year. The main building, a superb example of French Art Deco, combined with local style, quickly became a local landmark. The original timber elevator in the lobby has carried movie stars, prime ministers, and iconic figures to their uniquely decorated guest rooms.
The hotel offers 119 rooms and suites. Dining options are the following:
- Café d’Angkor, a casual all-day dining restaurant that serves a mix of international and Asian cuisine
- 1932, that celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Cambodia,
- The Conservatory, a sophisticated lounge known for its afternoon tea service and light snacks
- The Elephant Bar
- Apsara Terrace, an outdoor dining experience featuring traditional Cambodian performances alongside a buffet of local and international dishes
