Description
The Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa& is a luxurious 5-star retreat located on the picturesque island of Ischia, Italy. Perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the Gulf of Naples, the hotel offers stunning views and a private, serene atmosphere.
The hotel is housed in an unfinished watchtower originally built by the Aragonese family. The name “Mezzatorre” means “Half-Tower,” reflecting its incomplete status. The tower was expanded by the Dukes of Rancidello. In the 50s, Luigi Patalano, a renowned scholar, politician, and poet, acquired the property and transformed it into a cultural center. He also built “La Colombaia,” a villa in the same park, which was later owned by film director Luchino Visconti. The Sciò family discovered the property and fell in love with it. The Pellicano Hotels Group took over the management of the hotel.
The Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa offers a delightful array of dining and drinking options, each providing a unique experience:
- Ristorante La Torre: This restaurant offers elevated Mediterranean dining with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. It’s known for its sophisticated atmosphere and stunning sea views.
- Ristorante & Bar La Baia: Located by the pool, this spot provides a relaxed dining experience with unmatched sea views. It’s perfect for enjoying seafood and other light dishes in a laid-back setting.
- Bar La Torre: Situated on a terrace with a splendid view of San Montano Bay, this bar is ideal for enjoying a sunset aperitivo. The bar is known for its signature Mezzatorre Spritz and chill vibes.
