El Palace Barcelona is a luxurious 5-star hotel located in the heart of Barcelona, in the Eixample district. El Palace Barcelona, originally opened as the Ritz of Barcelona in 1919, has a rich and storied history. The hotel was envisioned by César Ritz, a pioneer in the luxury hotel industry, who also founded the Ritz hotels in Paris, London, and Madrid. Although César Ritz passed away in 1918, the hotel was completed and opened the following year. The hotel quickly became a symbol of luxury and sophistication in Barcelona, hosting numerous dignitaries, celebrities, and artists. It played a significant role during the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition.
The hotel offers 120 rooms and suites, each designed with a blend of classic and contemporary styles. Notable suites include the Art Suites, inspired by famous personalities like Salvador Dalí and Josephine Baker.
