Description
Situated on Sentosa Island, Capella Singapore is surrounded by lush gardens and grounds framed by the sea. The hotel extends from two restored Tanah Merah colonial bungalows dating back to the 1880s. The hotel’s roots trace back to the 1880s when it served as accommodation for British officers of the Royal Artillery and their families. The four classic colonial military buildings (Blocks 48-51) were later given conservation status.
It officially opened in March 2009. It seamlessly integrates two Tanah Merah military buildings from the 1880s with superb new modern structure. The architectural design was a collaboration between Foster and Partners and DP Architects, while Indonesian interior designer Jaya Ibrahim handled the interiors.
Capella offers 112 rooms, suites, and villas, each thoughtfully designed by Jaya Ibrahim. Premier Garden, Seaview, and Constellation Rooms provide tranquil views, some with private Jacuzzis.
The hotel offers two restaurants:
- Cassia offering authentic Cantonese cuisine. It’s a place where you can savor the rich flavors of Cantonese dishes.
- Fiamma celebrates the heritage and spirit of Italian family cuisine. The name itself means “Flame.”
- The stunning design with the original building and the new one from Norman Foster
- You are at the same time quite near from Singapore main attractions but you really feel like being in a resort
- Try the great new addition to the hotel restaurants : Fiamma
