Milan Unveiled and Duomo Terraces

Milan
Day 1

Duomo with fast-track access to panoramic terraces – Sforza Castle – Teatro La Scala

Milan is the financial and fashion capital of Italy and a mecca for opera enthusiasts. This cosmopolitan city is a treasure trove of art and culture and is experiencing a grand revival. Our expert guide will lead you on a journey of discovery as you visit Milan’s most famed and beautiful sights and will take you to new heights, allowing you to appreciate the city from a unique and breathtaking perspective.
A trip to Milan would not be complete without a visit to its extravagant Gothic Cathedral with its pearly white façade and its 135 spires topped with statues of saints. The Duomo, immortalized by countless writers and artists, never fails to astound visitors.

No less impressive is the Sforza Castle, where you will continue your explorations. Designed by the multitalented Leonardo Da Vinci, the palace was once the seat of the Duchy of Milan and is now home to five different museums. Your final stop of the day will be at Teatro La Scala, the legendary opera house, which has hosted Italy’s and the world’s greatest operatic artists since 1778.

Milan's Historical Coffee Houses

Milan

In the 1700s aristocrats used to meet in salons, lower class people in taverns, middle class in…coffee houses!
These bars are not just a place for drinking delicious coffee but true historical monuments. Intellectuals and philosophers of the 1800s loved to meet and discuss about politics and culture while sipping coffee so you will enjoy a mix of Italian history, traditions and…the best coffee you will ever have.

Find out about the contrast among Caffè della Peppina, that used to be close to the Duomo, and Caffè della Cecchina, formerly situated in front of La Scala Theater; the famous “Tre Marie” bakery, symbol of Milanese patisserie tradition, and the popular Caffè Gnocchi were two other past milestones in the city.
We will then reveal important coffee shops in today’s Milan, and the last treat of your tour will be in the Cova Patisserie, pure excellence in Milan.
