Florence Iconic Landmarks

Florence

Duomo’s Square – Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and its Dome – Signoria’s Square – Ponte Vecchio

Unrivalled for its history, art, architecture and fashion, Florence is so rich in treasures waiting to be discovered.
Admire Piazza del Duomo: the square , beating heart of the Tuscan capital, shines with great examples of architecture, namely the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore topped by the dome by Brunelleschi, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the octagonal Baptistry of St. John.
Highlight of your day will be the Brunelleschi's Dome: consisting of two interconnected ogival shells, the Cathedral's octagonal dome was erected between 1418 and 1434. Head then towards Piazza della Signoria, another celebration of different architectural and sculptural styles, and to the Porcellino Market, where we can shop for leather goods and souvenirs.

Siena and San Gimignano

Tuscany

Discover the charming towns of Siena and San Gimignano, two medieval pearls in the heart of Tuscany, revealing a glorious past and a marvelous present.
The latter majestically raises on a hilltop, its towered skyline is soon recognisable from the distance. Stroll along the history-soaked streets of the city center, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, and seize the beauty of the quaint squares. Climb the Torre Grossa to catch a glimpse of the surrounding Elsa Valley and stop at the local shops for authentic Florentine leather goods, Tuscan ceramics and pottery, marbled paper and handcrafted jewelry.

Grab also the opportunity to taste the local Vernaccia di San Gimignano, a full-bodied white wine, before heading to Siena. Florence’s historic arch-enemy shines with well-preserved Gothic architecture, Tuscany's tallest tower and a dazzling Duomo. The grand highlight is Piazza del Campo, though. The shell-shaped square is the civic and social center of the city, theatre of that magical spectacle that every year inflames Siena, the Palio horse race.

The Tuscan hills hide a treasure waiting to be found and dug out of the soil. A treasure growing underground, close to the roots of oak, hazel, poplar and beech trees, impossible to reproduce. The smell may be not the most agreeable but the taste is definitely sublime!
