Old Delhi Walking Tour with Rikshaw Ride

Delhi

Birla House - Bangla Sahib Gurudwara - Humayun's Tomb

Old Delhi was founded by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1639 and originally
named Shahjahanabad. It remained the capital of the Mughals until the end of the Mughal dynasty and was later rechristened Old Delhi by the British.
Onward, visit Birla House where Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated here on 30th January 1948. It is now a museum showcasing the life of Gandhi.
Next, visit Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, one of the biggest Sikh Temple in Delhi and end the day at Humayun's Tomb: the second Mughal Emperor's tomb has been meticulously restored and is a precursor to the Taj Mahal.

Varanasi and the Silk Looms

Varanasi

One hour's flight from New Delhi, to the east, lies the town of Varanasi, famous for its weaving looms. The city produces some of the world's finest silk saris, handwoven with its intricate motifs and the generous use of gold / silver zari or thread is widely seen.

Once in Varanasi, don't miss Sarnath, a Buddhist temple 30 minutes' drive to the north, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. It is one of the holiest sites as in this place the stream of the Buddha's teaching first flowed.
In the evening, visit the Ghats on the holy Ganga River to witness the Aarti or Sunset Fire Prayer Ceremony, which is fascinating.

Private Boat Ride on the Ganga

Varanasi

Early morning depart from the hotel for private boat ride on the Ganga at sunrise to watch the morning prayers and the Burning Ghats.

After the boat tour, enjoy a walking tour from the Ghats which covers several heritage buildings, temples including a visit to the famous Vishwanath Temple. Enjoy a special blessing ceremony at Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

A unique visit of the Taj Mahal in Agra

Agra

Wake up before dawn to visit the Taj Mahal as the first rays of the sun hit it. The white marble changes from a light grey to a rose hue and then finally to a stunning gold! It is really mesmerizing and can be observed in some peace as the crowds are much thinner. The incredible monument of love, built in memory of Empress Mumtaz by her husband the Emperor Shah Jehan, is one of the most iconic structures in the world.

In the evening, visit Mehtab Bagh, a beautiful garden across the river from The Taj Mahal. The view from here enables one to truly understand the size of the Taj Mahal.

The city of Alwar and the cow dust tour

Alwar

Alwar is a historic city known for its majestic forts and vibrant markets. Its rich cultural heritage is reflected in grand palaces and ancient temples.

Start your day with a visit to Bhangarh Fort. Abandoned just a generation after its founding and rumored to be haunted, Bhangarh is home to remnants of palaces, temples, pools, and bazaars, preserved amid green lawns and giant ficus trees.

When in Alwar, staying at the wonderful Amanbagh is a must. The place has 20 small villages and hamlets nearby and cycling there is an enchanting way of soaking in the atmosphere of village life, and to reach into the soul of rural Rajasthan. One of Amanbagh’s most popular activities is the cow dust tour that involves a Jeep ride into the local village in the afternoon, when cows, goats, sheep and buffalo are being herded home.

Walking tour in Jaipur and Hawa Mahal

Japiur

Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is renowned as the "Pink City" for its rose-hued buildings and magnificent architecture, including the Hawa Mahal and Amer Fort. It is a vibrant cultural hub, famous for its rich history, bustling bazaars, and traditional arts and crafts.

Visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar and drive past Hawa Mahal. Discover the Old City and the bazaars, a very interesting walking tour that takes you to the main attractions within the Jaipur Old City wall.

Tour of the Amber Fort in Jaipur

Jaipur

The magnificent Amber Fort is an extensive palace complex that has been built with pale yellow, pink sandstone and with white marble. The architecture and design is quite amazing given that it is 17th Century and was built to provide safety while
combating Jaipur's famous heat! The Fort/ Palace is immense, but you will see some of the main parts, including the Hall of Mirrors.

Walking tour in Jodhpur and Mehrangarh Fort

Jodhpur

Jodhpur, known as the "Blue City" of Rajasthan, is famous for its stunning Mehrangarh Fort and the vibrant blue-painted houses of its old town.

Built on a natural cliff in the desert, Mehrangarh Fort glows in the light of the evening sun and offers protection to the city which sprawls outside its walls.
A walking tour will bring you to the Old City of Jodhpur (this will be walking and partly by Rickshaw) and some steps will allow you to get a
beautiful panoramic view of the Blue City.

The City Palace and a tuk-tuk drive in the Old city

Udaipur

Udaipur, often called the "City of Lakes," is renowned for its picturesque lakes, palatial architecture, and romantic ambiance.

You will visit The City Palace, the largest Palace complex in Rajasthan constructed on the side of Lake Pichola. The Palace is a conglomeration of buildings built by various Kings and it is evident in the different styles of buildings.
Experience a tuk-tuk drive through the Old city, a fun and fascinating experience and a great way to go to the old city, alive with people, temples and shops.
